We Are Essential

We come with unexpected news, and not the good kind. Recently the city informed us of its decision to reverse policy and ban all indoor children’s activities. The reasons behind this policy change are unclear. Like you, we are frustrated. We believe we are an essential business. We will continue to work with the city to promote reasonable policy and please be assured, this is temporary. We hope to reopen our in-studio classes as soon as possible.

Since March, we’ve been in constant contact with Culver City, going above and beyond the protocols and procedures put in place to keep families and employees safe, healthy, and provide a premium service that’s in critical need. We’ve watched patiently as other businesses resumed regular activity (some with questionable and/or contradictory safety measures in place.) In some cases, businesses have even expanded operations thanks to extraordinary efforts from the city. All while children’s businesses like Wild Child have received none and have become even more restricted (we have had zero cases or cause to date.)

We are all fighting.

We are fighting to end the pandemic. We are fighting to provide the best for children and the community. We are fighting to support each other with the knowledge that no one can survive a once-in-a-lifetime event alone.

We understand the depths of this fight. We also understand the toll it is taking on all of us--particularly on families, working mothers and small businesses. We are pushing forward and not cancelling classes. We are working to expand our outdoor classes and moving the entirety of our offerings outside. Our classes at the Platform will continue, with the hopes of expansion to more days and times (we’re working on that). We will also have both morning and afternoon classes during the week at the lovely, Carlson Park (which the city is charging us to use.) And of course, our In The Wild (Child) private classes will continue in backyards and parks around the city.

Here are some important ways you can help Wild Child:

MEET US AT THE PARK!

For a limited time we’ll be at Carlson Park and the Park at Platform. We’re bringing the best of Wild Child…into the wild.

Lower registration coupled with drastically reduced class sizes to maintain our safety protocols is pretty tough on our financials. We need registration to fill these classes so they can live on and offset costs incurred to use the park and pay our wonderful teachers what they deserve. Don’t see a time that works for you, LET US KNOW! We are happy to try to accommodate.

Tell Your Friends!

Even better, BRING A FRIEND (or two or four!) Please help promote our offerings to those you know would benefit from Wild Child.

Gift Shopping!

Jeff Bezos has enough money, please shop for your littles locally at our Wild Child Shop. We are stocked with thoughtfully curated gifts + toys for babies and young children from some of the best makers around the world. We have free local delivery and curbside pickup is always available. Give WILD CHILD GIFTCARDs for classes too!

Spread Wild Child far and wide!

Share your experiences with us on social media and tag us. Post about us on your community pages. Help beat the Instagram algorithm and get in front of more people by FOLLOWING, SHARING, SAVING and COMMENTING on posts that interest you.

Lastly, instead of a refund opt for a credit whenever you can.

Through it all, we know this is temporary. We are here for you, the same way you’ve always been there for us. It takes a village!

Aloha,

Wai, Alli + Wild Child Gym
